How The Right Paint Color Can Make A Difference

As a painting contractor in Lee County Florida, I have painted hundreds upon hundreds of homes on the exterior. Usually when we paint the exterior of a home it is usually the same color.

Every once in a while, we have a client that wants to make a major paint color change to their home’s exterior. This particular home we painted on the exterior in Cape Coral, Florida is one of those homes.

The exterior of the home had not been painted in 16 years and was totally out of date.

After the homeowner had the windows and doors replaced on the exterior, a new roof and had new stucco banding installed around the new windows, Ron’s Painting put the finishing touches on their home.

As you can see the old paint color had faded, the homeowner did not like the look of the brick at the corners of the home and wanted to make them go away.

I met with the homeowners and helped them pick new paint colors that would not fade quickly yet brighten up the home to give  a new look with great curb appeal. The homeowner wanted the new color to blend in well with the roof and was looking for a yellow color. Yellows do not hold up well to the Florida Sun, it is known in the painting industry that most yellows will fade out to white in 3 years.

The homeowner decided to paint the stucco using Sherwin Williams 6672 Morning Sun and used Sherwin Williams 7562 Roman Column on the banding around the windows and on all doors.

We used Sherwin Williams gloss in Ron’s White for the soffits and used Sherwin Williams Natural Linen for the pool deck.

We used Sherwin Williams Duration in a satin finish on the stucco and a gloss finish on the soffits, banding and all doors.

We used Sherwin Williams Dura-Plate 289 on the pool deck.

As you can see, we painted all of the exterior brick and stucco the same color to make brick blend into the stucco now. Garage doors we painted to match the stucco also.

This home now has a WOW factor to the home’s exterior.
