Is There Another Painter You Could Recommend?

That is a question I get quite frequently when I speak with a potential client in scheduling an estimate for work – only to find out they have a deadline I can't commit to because of my schedule.

The problem I have in recommending other painting contractors is that I have yet to find one I would allow to paint my own home, let alone recommend them to someone else! There are very few painters that do the quality of work that Ron's Painting does on both interior and exterior painting.

As you can see in the photos below, we take special care when preparing the interior of a customer’s home that we don’t often see from other contractors.

For example, when we prepare a home’s interior we:

  • Completely protect the floors, cabinets, and windows to keep paint splatter off of the surfaces
  • Cover all of the furnishing with clean – not dirty - drop cloths
  • Protect hardwood floors by putting down paper/cardboard, followed by a drop cloth We also sweep all floors and make sure all furnishings are carefully put back into place when our job is complete. On this particular project, we actually washed all of the floors by hand before we left.

As I witnessed recently during a project of mine in Village Walk in Bonita Springs, another painter from another painting company on the same project didn’t even use a drop cloth to paint  door casings over a hardwood floor! As you can imagine, there was paint all over the floor. I had to let him borrow one of my drop clothes before I would allow him to continue.

When it comes to exterior painting, few painters go through the correct process, which means allowing each step to cure or dry properly before doing the next. Mistakes such as these are far too commonplace for my liking.

(To get an idea of how to properly paint the exterior of a home, watch the video on the home page of my website "How We Do Exterior Painting".)

In the end, we only recommend painters who exhibit the same level of care, diligence, and concern as we do – which, honestly, is hard to find.
