How do exterior wood doors hold up to the Florida Sun? (part 2)

Now that the doors are ready for the faux finish, in doing the faux this is where the skill comes in.  The paint that I use in this faux finish is black, dark brown, then black again.  It is a step by step process that takes 2 days.  You can apply all 3 colors in the same day, however when we do the faux, we try to make each panel of the door look like a panel as if the door has been stained.  The reason these particular doors were painted with a base coat of red, is because we are matching the garage doors, we faux finish 3 years ago.  The garage doors were is worse shape then the front doors, and they have held up well over the last 3 years, they look as good as the day I fauxed them.

Here is picture of the front doors after they have been faux finished I a wood grain effect.  I have added a picture of the garage doors so you can see how well they have held up the western exposure of the Florida sun.  This is not the only finish we do when it comes to wood doors.  I have also added a picture of 2 front doors and a transom we faux finished 3 years ago in a different faux finish color.

If you have any questions or would like an estimate from Ron’s Painting to so we can save you wood doors from having to be replaced.
