Pressure Cleaning in the Spring for Your Southwest Florida Painting Project

If you are undertaking a Southwest Florida painting project – or are simply wanting to get your home back into shape after a long winter – pressure cleaning is a must.

When we let our homes endure winter, even mild Southwest Florida winters, a lot can happen. Pressure cleaning is a way that we can strip down a home’s exterior and remove a lot of buildup that has accumulated, buildup like dirt, dust, sap, and other contaminants that can make a home look grungy.

It’s also a time to examine a home and see how well the home and its paint job have held up against moisture. The last thing we want to see is chipped and peeling paint that can help promote mold as a result of wetness and humidity getting through to the underlying wood of your home.

So, pressure cleaning in the spring following winter, even without a scheduled painting project, is important. What we prefer to do is pressure clean the home with bleach and not only remove dirt and grime, but also decontaminate the home’s exterior.

Then, when you go to paint, the mildew won’t be present. Even if you can’t actually see mildew, it’s probably there because of our climate. With pressure cleaning in the spring, you can ensure that mildew doesn’t have a receptive environment for growth and can be handled.

Spring is a great time to take a look at your home for maintenance purposes and repair any damage caused by winter. It’s also a great time to consider repainting your home’s exterior if it’s been a few years, or if there are several places in need of repainting. Take the time to pressure clean your home and give it a thorough examination before moving into summer.
